May 30, 2010, Website Update!
Hi Guys
So ... if you didn't see or hear, I am working really hard to make airbrush-guidance.com WAY more fun - for both you and me! I wrote a blog post a few days ago about it and IT IS ON!
In that post I stated that I am not terribly interested in making tonnes of money on this site and when I tried to that is when in became NO FUN! So...
I AM MOVING!!
I am going to move airbrush-guidance to a new web host - one that doesn't cost me $35/month of pocket money. It will be in blogger and it will have a different name (I have to pick a new name to keep it free for me).
This is a big deal guys. Really big.
Airbrush-guidance has some seriously good page rankings in google - people primarily find this site through google - and when I move websites I am going to lose all of that page ranking. I will once again be lost in the abyss of the web until I climb back up. ALSO, all of the links that currently come to this site will no longer work (unless I pay for a re-direct service - which I am not going to) so all the good things you readers have said about me will also be gone.
I am OK with this. It'll come back.
I am looking forward to the change - not just because of the money I'll save but because this website is ugly ... no, no, I am a big girl... I can admit it. It is ugly and disorganized and not at all modern looking. It's not me.
The new site will be better. Cleaner. Modern. More interactive. You guys can comment on posts, leave feedback - all sorts of things.
I will run the two sites overlapping for a while. One, to give me time to build the other site and two, so that I can post "I'm moving signs" on this website to re-direct people for a while.
I am doing this for fun's sake ... But I need your help - I need you to help me build a following for the other site (still nameless at the moment) ... everyhting that is on here will be there ... but no one is going to know unless you tell them.
Check back here for updates and in the meantime pretty pretty please follow me on twitter .... I'll be tweeting all the way to the new site.
Oh... and my twitter name is now shanimarissa instead of airbrush_guide... that just didn't feel like me either.
Another Oh! ... my e-mail will change with the new site: shanimarissa [at] yahoo.com is where you will be able to reach me :)
Love shani

May 12, 2010, I JUST CAN'T DO IT!
I just can't delete this website!
I tried... I did. I even warned a number of my dear friends to download whatever they needed in preparation for the big shut down ... but I just can't walk away. I've made too many friends and invested too much time to not give it another shot!
I have also done some soul searching on why this website became un-fun for me. And, to be honest guys, it started right when I tried to make a little money off the site. Instead of just trying to be helpful I felt like I was obligated to write articles to earn the all mighty buck. That's not what I want at all.
So here's the plan... if I am going to keep this website around it is going to be MUCH more fun. No more strategy... just great info that any airbrusher would like to have.
HOW you ask?
1. I will be starting a twitter account so that I can keep in touch with everyone easier and so you can see what I am up to. I will use twitter to post cool finds on the internet too. Click below to follow me:
2. I am going to expand the website to link to other peoples sites. There are some seriously amazing tutorials I know of and I would love to share - but I was hoarding trying to get you to stay here - no more, my friends, no more - I seek out the best and I share with you.
3. I will be removing advertisement from my site that I do not believe in. Yup - I said it.. I was advertising for companies that I would not personally buy from. Awful isn't it. I am sorry. But it will be coming down. (This is with the exception of google ads - they are automatically generated and I have no control over what they advertise).
4. I have big plans for the future if this gets to be as fun as I hope I can make it... If I can get enough followers on twitter I might have enough "clout" to be able to get us awesome things like coupon codes, discounts on courses or freebies that I can give away in contests.
5. Lastly, I am going to look into user generated content ... not a forum or anything as those get too messy - but some neat and tidy way for all of us to share where we find the best information or the tips that gave us a big head-start.
I want to do this but I need support. Daily. It's hard to keep motivated when you feel like you are "talking" to a box.
Following me on twitter will help me know that there are REAL people out there who are just as frustrated as I was when I was first learning how to airbrush (and continue to learn) that could use a little help.
I want to help.
Love
Shani

Dec 4, 2009, Hi Everyone
I want to share some great news with you all.... as some you that I talk to regularly know, my husband and I have been building a house for the last two years and it is FINALLY done! I can't tell you how relieved I am! It has been a terribly long wait.
I started this website as a distraction from the wait (and the living conditions as we were shacked up in my parents unfinished basement with all of our pets and belongings stacked to the ceiling). It served as a great distraction but painting there was tough. Every time I wanted to paint I would have to rearrange a whole room - in this house - I have a whole room dedicated just to the computer and painting.
Again - I can't tell you how relieved I am. A whole room just to paint in. So here is where you come in. It's been so long since I painted something I am at a bit of a loss as to what to paint. Or, what to write about these days.
I want to know what you want to see or learn or know about and I will do my best to provide posts that help you.
I've helped lots of you personally via e-mail: but I want to share that personal help with everyone else too. (Of course I am still available for personal help when you need it).
So please guys (and gals) - drop me a line - give me ideas! You can reach me through my about me page or at shani(at)airbrush-guidance.com.
(also ... if I haven't told you before... please send me photos of your work ... I love to see them)
Shani :)
