About Me ...
I have to be honest... I have been avoiding writing the inevitable "about me" page...
... really, there is not much more to say than "I am an airbrush enthusiast!" But.. if anyone is craving slightly more than that... ... My name is Shani Steinhubl and I picked up my first airbrush on my 30th birthday and haven't looked back since. I have always loved artsy stuff, but never really pursued anything seriously - instead I went to school and became an Industrial Engineer (I can't think of anything less artsy either). Soon after I graduated from university I started to realize that for the last 5 years while I was in school I had let all my personal interests totally slip - I was so focused on the getting that degree that I forgot to have FUN. So the search began ... I needed a hobby! I tried scrapbooking, Jewelry making, cake decorating etc.... then one day, I was watching TV and I say Mike Lavallee of Killer Paints paint the most incredible thing I had ever seen on a car using an airbrush - and something just CLICKED. I HAD LEARN HOW TO DO THAT!!! I hopped on the internet right away and started searching and lurking in forums learning as much as I could. I researched for months before I settled on my first airbrush ... an IWATA HP-C... and the first time I used it I remember thinking "Yup, this is the thing for me!" Since then I have read so many airbrush books, magazines, forum postings, product reviews, websites, and more that my head is chock full of all this information about airbrushing... For the longest time I posted everything I knew on forums as well as all my artwork - soon, though, I came to realize that the same questions were being asked again and again as "newbies" came into the forums.... all of my informative posts sinking to the bottom of the pile. This realization reminded me of how much time and effort I had spent searching for airbrush information and how much information I had to sift through to find it all ... then "poof"... another hobby is born - website development! I really do love this stuff.... and I like to share what I know with others ... hopefully you find it as useful as I find it enjoyable. Shani :) P.S. This site is a continual work in progress - while I would love to fill it up with everything I have learned right away and as fast as possible, I do have that darn engineering day job (which is fun too - in a very different way) to contend with limiting my writing time. P.P.S. If you would like to help me help you by donating an amount of your choosing to airbrush-guidance.com you can do so by clicking the donate button below. I promise that all donations received are funneled right back into the sites content either through learning new skills and sharing or product reviews. If you want to get in contact with me to ask a question, make a comment, debate my information, or simply to say hi I have provided a contact form below... (Sorry about the form - I hate them too - but the amount of spam I get by posting a real web address is unbelievable!)
