Airbrush Safety: Some Things to Know...

I know what your thinking... airbrush safety? What could possibly be a safety issue when you are airbrushing?

You might be surprised...

The key to being safe in anything you do is knowing the hazards up front so that you can identify potential unsafe conditions when it really matters. There are plenty of little hazards (and a few big hazards like fumes) that I want to point out to everyone as I come across them.

Also, this is the place to find information on equipment, resources, materials ect that can help ensure your safety and the safety of those around you.

Below there will be links to specific articles / stories ... but those will take time to develop ... so to get the ball rolling I just quickly want to brainstorm the types of things that come to my mind with respect to safety in hopes that while I am developing the content, you will become more aware of safety issues:

  • Fumes from urethane paints
  • Inhaling overspray (particulates)
  • Pressureized air
  • Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS)
  • Sharp airbrush needles
  • Sharp blades and exacto knifes
  • Paint Formulations
  • warning Labels
  • Face Masks
  • Airbrush tanning products
  • Chemical burns
  • Eye protection
