How to Heat Set Airbrush T Shirts
So you've painted masterpiece airbrush T shirts and now you want to wear them right away, right? Hold ON!! Make sure you take the time to heat set it first!! Airbrush paint is not permanent unless you make it that way by heat setting. Heat setting is a simple process, just crank your clothes iron as hot as it will go, place an old tea towel over your art work and iron away. Don't let it get too hot as to burn your work - but make sure that it gets heated really really well. WORD OF WARNING: Not all airbrush paints or colors heatset as well as others. I recommend, for your own sanity, that you make a test shirt. Use every color you have, label them with a sharpie, and use the heat set method described above. When the shirt is completely cooled, throw it in the wash (inside out please) and the dry it. Don't freak out it if bleeds a little bit - they always do. Then throw it in the wash one more time.... just to be certain. Use the results of this test shirt to your advantage and figure out which paint colors stick and which don't.... for the ones that don't find replacements.
